I have an 18ss (83) and the steering is very stiff. It appears I need a new cable on one side. I am looking for a 14'6" Mercury Ride Guide cable. Does anyone have any ideas where I might find one? Apparently they are obsolete

I was told Merc were gonna start making them again last summer. Thing is you can buy an aftermarket system for less than the cable from Mercury. There was a Marina on Ebay last year selling some new old stock Rideguide cables. Do not buy used, they are there on Ebay also.
