Unless you are running hydraulic, all steering is through cables. Rotary or R and P refers to the helm arrangement. For controls I have just an ordinary OMC box for starting and gears, with a foot throttle, and trim and jack plate controls are on "turn signal" controls behind the wheel. That lets me keep both hands on the wheel when adjusting the trim or jackplate.

I'm not an expert, I just follow the crowd LOL. But, as far as I know, R and P is recommended for higher HP motors.. i.e. over 100 hp. I do know that I have rotary in my 15' runabout with a 50 on it.. I'd be scared to drive that with much more power, just 'cause the steering wants to take a sharp left turn all the time. The R and P on my 200 doesn't do that.

I like R&P systems better than rotary. I've had a rotary system before break behind a 110 hp on a pontoon.

Yeah, they do. It's your choice to run single or dual cables, me I run dual for 2 reasons... safety, and you can dial out any play in the system. I forget what length mine is, you'll have to measure the way Teleflex tells you to.

That sounds about right. But I'd measure it just to make sure
