Default Looks like I will be getting a new tow rig soon

The hummer really didn't like hauling the boat, fire ring, camping mats and various other stuff so I went looking for something a little more useful....A truck.

Can't be just any truck as it had to stand out...No 4 door trucks, long beds, and even the extended cabs where pushing it.....I wants a 1/2 single cab 4X4 with a short sport or step side bed.

Low and behold I found one close even...it is even red to match the boat.

Best part is I did even know they where still offering 2 bucket seats and a console like the old CSS package of the 70's.

Need a good cleaning, some big tires and new wheels but this should get the boat in the water and up all the hills we have here with a 350 CI Vortec motor.

Nice! They run forever too. We've retired a couple of our work trucks with over 300,00 miles on them, only because the bodies rotted off here in the land of snow.

Been cleaning while the weather has been good, replaced the grill, faded lights and T/S...Waiting on new tail lights and cover for the bed....Thinking of pulling the plastic bed liner and paint it with Herculiner....It looks a lot better now after removing the window tint too.....and buffing the heck out of the paint.

The new exhaust is on and that made a heck of a difference.

Just need to put some more miles on it, get the cooling system flushed and get comfortable with it.

So now after having the truck for a couple weeks and time to get it cleaned up....I removed the poorly done window tint, cleaned the interior, replaced the grill, headlights, T/S and marker lights, rear T/S, buffed the hell out of the red, replaced the vinyl bed cover and a few other little things. new exhaust made a huge difference and the 350 CI motor sure make a difference in power over the 5 cylinder Hummer.

Next mod will be to remove the rear bumper and replace it with a roll pan and hidden hitch.
