I'm gonna go out on a limb here and guess that you are some type of engineer (probably mechanical or civil?)

Hey thanks guys!

Backlash, I've read your build many times so your complement really means a lot!

Zaair, I take that as a complement. I actually went to college for mechanical engineering for a few years, then went into design instead....

I am actually a boat designer at Delta Marine In seattle. We build 130ft plus yachts. We actually build the largest fiberglass yacht in the entire world. Along with my design background i also have a degree from Westlawn Instiitute of marine technology. In 2011 I won the world superyacht young designer of the year award.

I am having a blast with this little boat, as the smallest boat I have worked on professionally was 64ft.

Sorry for the autobiography but thought my professional life was relavent to this forum and my build!

-Michael

My god that looks like a lot of work. You advised me in my resto thread that prep is key...looking at yours, I give up. You've really covered all of your bases!

When the apocalypse comes, I'm jumping in mgivens boat. Lol

Its nice to have two new build threads pop up. I love to watch these progress.

Thanks for the compliment Michael. Interesting resume you've got there… I'm guessing you work for Westship? They do some impressive layup and infusion processes to say the least.

Damn. That transom puts mine to shame. I thought mine was strong. Great work.

Someone changed their whole mindset in regards to the validity of wood as a core material?

Wood rots when exposed to water and moisture. Boats live outside in water and moisture.....
