Windshields!! Need one? Have one for sale? Is yours broken? Did you fix it? Have you replaced yours? Build a new one? Probably the single most valuable part of a Sidewinder other than the engine. This is where you talk about windshields.

Default Paint or wrap windshield?

Thinking about either painting or wrapping my windshield black, as it is cracked in a few places. I don't ever look through it as its small and too low to see, so I don't think that will be a issue. Replacements are too expensive and hard to come by. Any thoughts

Go Fly did it.....

If it were me, and you're capable.... I'd just tint over that mofo with some 5%. I'm not a big fan of the opaque "wraps".

I was also thinking about possibly using the windshield as mold and make a fiberglass copy. I could paint it to match the boat. Just another idea

I'm with B on this one... I've never seen a painted/wrapped windshield I've liked. I'd fix the cracks and tint it dark.

Tried the fix, never was really happy with the results. It re-cracked anyway, the material was so brittle. There was a huge thread that Go-fly started, and there were a few pics of mine in therehttp://sidewinder-boats.com/portal/windertalk/attachment.php?attachmentid=3282&d=1296923662
This is the only one I can find from there. It still shows the cracks after filling. The following year, new cracks formed.
Now I have a glass wrapped windshield on it, but no pics available yet.

Sorry, linky no worky

I now see that Go-fly dug up the old thread, and made it a sticky. In my opinion, that is the only way to go if you need a windshield. Of course you could always keep looking on the interweb for one, but that ain't gonna happen.
