According to the title it's a 73 model TRI 10. The reading I
have done so far it looks like it is a XL. Looks exactly like the
picture posted by SidewindersRCool except for the color:
It has a 165hp I/O and is all orginal. A very bright orange is the
color which gained it the nick of Orange Weinne. Got the name
before I bought it in 1986 and has stuck. No matter what I tried
everyone kept calling it that so I have learned to accept it. :-)
I do have question about that being accurate. According to
the man I bought it from the hull was a 72 and the engine
was a 73. So until I find out otherwise I will continue with the
Currently it is in bad need of restoration. Wife suffered a stroke
6 years ago and could no longer get in and out of the boat. So
it has been sitting under cover for the last 6 years unused.
Up until then all summer long every weekend we were out on the
river having fun. The Weinne was a real trooper. Never any major
problems the whole time it was in use. Ski was my passion with
this boat and it never failed me. I could pull two on skies and three
people on board with little or no effort.
Now that I have the time I plan on restoring it. That and finding
this site of other sidewinder fans I hope to gain some usful knowledge
of how best to go about it.
