making an 18SS Open Bow conversion

There's a 18SS hull that I drive past every day that has a rather large hole in the bow deck from a tree falling on it, otherwise seems like the usuall rotted, been sitting under a tree forever, floor/transom fixer type deal. Has a non running Evinrude, that supposedly turns freely and last ran 10 years ago. Anyway I finally stopped today and knocked on the door The guy said I could have it, if I gave him $200 for the trailer. I started thinking it would be pretty challenging to make the deck look right again without glassing in a whole new deck, but if I just cut out the damaged center portion of it and made it into an open bow with perhaps a homemade low-rise, tinted plexi half windshield on each side butting all the way up where the stock frame is open, build seat frames, etc, it might look pretty sweet, and would hold more people/stuff? Yeah I know, crapload of work, but I think it could be made to look okay.

Anybody have thoughts on this? Who is good with Photoshop?

Im wondering, how much use you could actually get out of having the open bow? Or would you just fill the whole thing in with cushion and no space inbetween?

I know the winders that do have the open bow in them, have only a small front facing bench. And i "think" the hull is a bit different???

Hell, just make a real big cutout for a cooler....

Well, no project is really ever truly done is it?...but I'm gonna throw out a rough estimate of, say, back on the lake, and running under it's own power by, ohh...mid-July or late September...of 2040-ish.

I had an open bow conversion in mine (the link is up further) and being a 16SS the bow was a little small, But I am going for a hatch on the front. Good luck with the project.
